PO James Kerstetter Honors Funeral
On March 20th P.O. Bryant Garcia and I were privileged to represent the Chicago Police Department and the Brotherhood for The Fallen at the Honors Funeral for P.O. James A. Kerstetter (EOW 15 March 2010) in Elyria Ohio. It was, as always a very sad event, but seeing all of the Officers there to support the family and the Elyria PD was uplifting. PO Kerstetter was ambushed as he entered a house to follow up on a call of a sexual assault/public indecency complaint. He entered the house in a
tactically ready manner, but was cut down by a deranged individual who was in turn killed by responding officers. God bless PO Kerstetter, his wife and three daughters and the members of the Elyria Police Department. May he rest in peace.
